WELCOME TO PHYSICS
Physics is more than a part of the physical sciences. It is the BASIC science. It's about the nature of basic things such as motion, forces, energy, matter, heat, sound, light, and the structure of atoms. There's nothing scary about it - actually, you see Physics all around you all the time. The common language of Physics that gives it structure is Math, although we won't use any Math higher than Algebra 1.
I studied Physics because as a kid I wanted to know how things around me worked and as I grew up I discovered that Math and "hand-on" projects were fun!
My first career was an Engineer at White Sands Missile Range, blowing up secret military targets with high energy laser beams. My second career was a Domestic Engineer at home, raising two daughters. My third career was a Teacher of Math and now Physics, helping students learn "difficult" subjects in an easier way. I'm thrilled to be teaching at BMHS and hope you will put aside your fears, work hard and gain more respect for the basic science continually weaving around your life!
