As a product of twelve years of Catholic school teaching, I am honored to be a language arts instructor at Bishop Moore. Previously, I have taught at the middle school and college levels, and I have always had the greatest interest in teaching in a Catholic high school. I attended the University of South Florida and obtained my bachelor’s degree in education, and I continued my education at the University of Central Florida and earned a master’s degree in language arts education.
My hope is to inspire students to extend themselves outside their reading comfort zones and try new genres and authors. Over the last four years, I have pushed myself to do this very thing, and I have found so many new authors to add to my list of favorites that it is neverending. We discover who we are and who we can be when we read and write stories, and my hope is that I can facilitate that discovery for each and every one of my students.
Being a native Floridian, I love exploring both the natural beauty of this state and its not-so-natural collection of theme parks with my family.
"Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of
magic. Capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it."- Professor Albus Dumbledore
“A
truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it
down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must
finish by acting.”—Henry David Thoreau
