Importantísimo:

One of the requirements to be inducted into the Spanish Honor Society (LA SOCIEDAD HONORARIA HISPÁNICA) is that you be a member of Las Avispas for two years and remain an active member.

Las Avispas is our Spanish Club in which Students have the opportunity to experience the Spanish culture and language through various activities during the year.

Activities:

Dominoes (Domino Tournament in January)

Spanish Scrabble and Spanish Monopoly

Spanish Rosary during the month of October (El mes del Rosario)

Day of the Dead Candy Sale

Visiting Nursing Home (Parrandas - Spanish Christmas Caroling)

Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary in December

Christmas Party with Piñatas and "mucha comida" - ¡Qué Rico!

Salsa and merengue lessons

Writing of letters to Pen pals through The Children of Love Foundation

Phone-A-Thon

Participating in a Spanish mass

Visiting of various Latin-American Restaurants

(Peruvian, Mexican, Cuban, Puertorrican, Venezuelan, etc...)

To obtain information about our activities, you must GO TO our web page at all times and/or listen to morning announcements. The Club has grown to the point that it is very difficult to hold meetings. Check under "Avíspate" for the latest activities.
