Frequently Asked Questions

We know you have questions, so we’ve created this page to help answer them. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. Additional information about each topic is available in our student handbook (which you can find in the quick links section of our Home page). And as always, you are welcome to call us if something isn’t clear.

What do I do if my child is going to be absent?

We appreciate your diligence in ensuring your children are at school as often as possible—good attendance is vital to their success—but we understand that emergencies happen. If your child is going to be absent, we ask that you call our attendance hotline at (407) 293-7561 x245 by 8:00 a.m. on the morning of your child’s absence. Please leave a message for us with the name and grade of your child. Then, send a note with your child upon his/her return (and within 48-hours of the absence) including:

  • Current date
  • Date of absence
  • Full name of student
  • Grade of student
  • Reason for absence
  • Signature and phone number of parent to be reached for verification

What is the procedure for early dismissal, for a prescheduled appointment, or if my child becomes ill?

When students request early dismissal for medical or other official appointments, they must present a parent-signed note to the Student Service office before 7:35 a.m. The note must include the information listed above, including a phone number. We will contact you via the phone number provided to confirm the dismissal. Unexpected dismissals, due to illness, require both written and verbal parent confirmation authorizing the student to leave school. You may fax a note to our office at (407) 206-0239. Please include your phone number for verbal confirmation. We do not release any students during the school day to anyone who is not on that student’s emergency contact form. Students must sign out in the office before leaving campus.

My child requires prescription medication during the day. What is your policy?

We cannot dispense any form of medication to students, even common over-the-counter drugs. Students at BMC must self-medicate. Anyone needing to take medication during school hours must bring it in its original container with a signed parent note indicating the amount and times of dosage. It is the student’s responsibility to come to the Student Service office at the prescribed time to take his/her medication.

Does BMC have a dress code, and if so, where can I find the appropriate attire?

Yes, we do have a specified dress code that allows students to focus on academic and personal achievement rather than social standing. Our dress code includes white polo shirts with our logo embroidered on the front, black pants and/or BMC plaid skort. You may purchase uniforms through Risse Brothers Uniforms.

Does BMC have payment plans available for paying tuition?

We process tuition payments through FACTS management portal. All payments are made online through that portal and do include various options for payment, including monthly and bi-annual installments. However, we do provide discounts for paying your tuition in larger lump sums. For more information, please visit our Tuition page
