Moms in Prayer
at Bishop Moore Catholic High School
Moms In Prayer meets every Tuesday morning from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the St. Charles School Chapel (near Loretta Hall, behind the large mural).
Our mission is to pray for the students, faculty and staff at Bishop Moore each week that school is in session. We invite all mothers of BMCHS students to join us; no prior Bible study or prayer experience is needed, just a willingness to meet with other moms in a relaxed setting, and pray together for our children. There is no requirement to attend regularly, but rather as your schedule allows.
This is the 5th year that Moms in Prayer has been on campus at Bishop Moore. Perhaps you have heard of us… we hope so! Moms groups meet in private, public and parochial schools all around the world. Moms in Prayer is an international and nondenominational prayer ministry, though at Bishop Moore it has a more Catholic approach.
Two aspects of this prayer group which are so touching are our weekly prayers for faculty and staff and our prayer requests from students. Each week during the school year, we also pray for 4-5 faculty or staff members of the school. Our religion teachers, the student Peer Ministers and the campus minister, Peter Dionne, encourage students to fill out small prayer request forms. These anonymous prayer requests are collected each week and given to the Moms. During our prayer meeting we read aloud all requests, and lift these concerns up to God. We take the students’ prayer requests seriously, and know that they reflect what is going on in their school and home environments, as well as what they may be struggling with spiritually. As with everything we discuss, all messages and prayer concerns are kept in the strictest of confidence.
