Her involvement has even included a stint at coaching girl's basketball and softball teams.
"I coached the first girl's basketball team that BMHS ever had first girl's softball team the school ever had ('75)," she points out with pride.
The high point of her coaching career was beating West Orange High School at their field to win the districts in softball in 1979.
She coached softball for 11 years, basketball for 8. She has been the faculty rep at more than her share of Hornet games, and has made herself available to help the athletic department with whatever was needed -- from taking admissions at the gate and helping organize tournaments to scorekeeping and running the clock at various athletic events. Most of all, she has encouraged thousands of Hornet athletes to develop as people.
Miss Browne is an alum of Clarke College, Marquette and FTU (now UCF). She lives in Deltona with five cats and two dogs.
