Luis was captain of the North in the North-South Florida Olympics.
He lists among his most memorable moments the 1978 district championship games, 1979 district championships, the 1980 regional championships (eight overtimes), the 1980 state championship game.
He went on to play four years of Division I soccer at Northeast Louisiana University.
