Coach Jessee was known far and wide as a motivator. It is often rumored that wrestlers would follow Randy around in the hopes of wrestling for his team. With the record that Coach Jessee has, its no wonder they wanted to sign up.
Randy began his coaching career at BMHS in 1975, working as the Physical Education Department Chairman for 10 years. He was the Head Wrestling Coach for 14 years, Assistant Football Coach for 8 years, Head Track Coach for 2 years, and the Head Athletic Trainer at BMHS for 12 years.
Ten times he was named the Orange Belt Conference Coach of the Year. He was also named the Florida High School Activities Association Coach of the Year in 1981, and in 1983 was nominated for National Coach of the Year. Randy coached ten teams to win the OBC Championships, and ten teams to win the district championships. Five teams won regional championships, and in 1981 coached the State Champion Team. Individually, he coached 101 OBC Champions, 103 District Champions, 58 Regional Champions, and Runner-ups, and 8 State Champions during his era at BMHS.
