Frequently Asked Questions

(during our At Home Continuity of Learning)
Question: How do I get in touch with my School Counselor?
Answer: Email your School Counselor, copying your parent/guardian. You can also use the Schoology message feature.
Question: Are there just specific times that I can reach my School Counselor?
Answer: Each School Counselor has established specific office hours focused on returning student emails and Schoology messages. You can certainly send emails or messages at other times. Those are just the dedicated times. We will do our best to return your messages as soon as we can throughout the school day.
Question: I did not meet with my School Counselor to choose classes for next year, what should I do?
Answer: If you are a junior, you should have received an email from your School Counselor about signing up for an appointment. If you are a freshman or sophomore, you should contact your School Counselor to set up a time to meet and choose classes.
Question: What do I do about Community Service hours that I need to submit?
Answer: This would be a great time for you to catch up on entering any community service hours that you have already completed into the X2VOL system on Naviance Student. Someone from our office will be monitoring and approving hours during this time. There are directions in Naviance Student if you need a reminder on how to enter them. Please be sure to check back into your account a week after submitting just to be sure that everything has been submitted correctly and approved.
Question: I am not sure how to log into Naviance?
Answer: You can access Naviance Student through the Guidance Page on the BMC website. There is a link on the page for you to click.
Question: What if my password for Naviance is not working?
Answer: Please contact your School Counselor, and he/she can reset it for you.

SAT and ACT Testing

Many colleges and universities require test scores for the admissions process. Some colleges and universities also require SAT Subject tests.

Bishop Moore is a registered test site for the SAT. We have scheduled testing opportunities throughout the year. When registering for the SAT, be sure to include our test site code (10-519). We are not a Saturday test administration site for the ACT. For both the SAT and ACT, you’ll need to ensure we receive the results of your tests. Please provide our school code (101285) when you register for either exam. For more information on how to register for the SAT or ACT, please visit Naviance Student.

Sign in to Naviance Student for a list of available scholarships. You can find these scholarships under the "Colleges" tab. You can find links to other scholarships or the Nomination Request Form by selecting "View All from My School" at the bottom of your Naviance Student homepage.
