HORNET ATHLETICS

BMC is a proud member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). We participate in 28 sanctioned or recognized sports, and offer spirt cheer, band and color guard, and winter guard. Over 780 students participate in these sports/activities. 2019-2020 begins a new two-year classification cycle with the Hornets in class 4A.

The 2018-2019 athletic year proved to be another successful year on the field with the Hornets accumulating 12 district championships, 6 region championships, 2 team (competition cheer, and adaptive track) state championships and 4 individual state championships. Additionally, a 5th place finish in the Orlando Sentinel Super 6 rankings, and a 2nd place finish in the FHSAA All sports Award for class 6A. And off the field, the Hornets finished 6th in overall team GPA with a 3.48 average for all varsity sports. For the 2018-2019, 35 student athletes received scholarship opportunities to play at the next level.

What sets Bishop Moore Catholic apart from other schools is that we live out our faith in myriad ways.  Each morning, we have the opportunity to begin our day with daily Mass at 7:00am in the chapel. Our chaplain, Father Edwin, will hear confessions on the dock on a regular basis. Just look around our campus and you will find many inspiring places to sit and pray or reflect on your day. Spaces like our Marian grotto and the outdoor altar and crucifix in The Pines are spaces for quiet contemplation. New this year, visit Sister Kristi and the Campus Ministry Team during lunch hours in their new space--an office just outside the cafeteria.
