Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

August 07, 2025
By BMC

Hornet Family,

As we begin this new school year, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of our students, families, faculty, and staff. The start of a new school year brings renewed energy and enthusiasm for the many opportunities to continue to grow in faith, pursue excellence, and live lives of service, hallmarks of our Bishop Moore Catholic charism.
This year, we are proud to welcome over 1,600 students to our campus. Catholic education at Bishop Moore and amongst our Diocesan partners remains strong, and we continue to invest in our school to enhance the student experience. We will welcome students and faculty back to a state-of-the-art chemistry wing and elevator in Loretta Hall, newly turfed athletic fields, and renovated cafeteria space. These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, accessible, and dynamic learning environment.
I would like to invite each student to reflect on the wisdom of St. Thomas Aquinas as we begin this school year, who states: “Wonder is the desire for knowledge”, challenging each of us to fully engage in learning and exploration of the world around us.

As Hornets, let us accept this challenge for the 2025-2026 school year, maximizing our God given gifts and talents in all we do here at Bishop Moore Catholic.
St. Joseph, our patron, pray for us.

God Bless and Go Hornets!

By BMC

Dear Bishop Moore Catholic Community,

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Joe Forney, who has served as Interim Athletic Director over the past year, has officially been named Athletic Director of Bishop Moore Catholic High School.

When Mr. Forney stepped into this role, he shared his commitment to strengthening our athletic programs, promoting teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship, and ensuring that every student-athlete is supported in becoming their best, both on and off the field.

Under Forney's direction during the 2025–2026 school year, the Bishop Moore Catholic athletic program reached new heights, earning two State Championships in Girls Volleyball and Unified Track & Field, as well as a State Runner-Up finish in Girls Soccer.
The program also celebrated four Regional Championships and eleven District titles.

Academically, Bishop Moore Catholic secured 2nd place in the FHSAA Class 4A Academic Team Rankings, reflecting a strong commitment to both athletic and academic excellence. This year also marked the introduction of Unified Bowling and Unified Basketball, furthering the school’s mission of inclusion and community.

Individual honors included the Class 4A Coach and Player of the Year in Girls Volleyball, one Girls Soccer All-State selection, four Football All-State selections, and five All-Americans in Boys and Girls Lacrosse. One student-athlete was named the Orlando Sentinel Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year.

In addition, sixteen student-athletes signed to compete at the collegiate level, a testament to the strength of the program and the leadership that supports it.

Mr. Forney brings a clear vision, strong leadership, and an unwavering commitment to continuing the proud tradition of the BMC athletic program while upholding the values of our Catholic faith. We are confident that under his continued leadership, Bishop Moore athletics will flourish in both excellence and character.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Forney on this well-deserved appointment!
