Program Success
Our program has a rich history, boasting two state championships from 1967 and 2007. We are proud to have produced two Big League alumni: Drew Butera, who won a World Series with the Kansas City Royals, and Mike McClendon. Additionally, we have achieved an impressive 22 consecutive District Championships, highlighting our sustained excellence in the sport.
Tony Mehlich, a Florida State University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, has been a dedicated head coach at BMC for 10 years, with a total of 13 years of coaching experience at Lake Howell, University High School, and Bishop Moore Catholic High School. His coaching career is highlighted by a strong record of 191 wins and 91 losses. Under his leadership, his teams have achieved significant success: in 2016, they reached the Final Four; in 2017, they were State Finals Runners-Up; in 2018, they secured the Regional Championship; and in 2019, they made another Final Four appearance. Over the past nine years, Mehlich has helped 56 players commit to college programs. A Bishop Moore alumnus from the class of 2003, Mehlich is also an avid golfer and pickleball player. He is married to Nichole Mehlich and is a father to Mason (13) and Maddux (8).

Joe Skinner Baseball Field
The Joe Skinner Baseball Field, dedicated in honor of Coach Joe Skinner, features an advanced artificial turf infield, providing a top-notch playing surface for athletes. The facility includes separate clubhouses for both the junior varsity and varsity teams, ensuring ample space for team activities and preparation. For practice and training, indoor batting cages are available, allowing players to refine their skills year-round. The field is equipped with state-of-the-art LED stadium lights, enabling games to be played in optimal conditions, while a modern video scoreboard in left field enhances the spectator experience with real-time updates and highlights.
Moore center Weight room
State of the art weight room on the first floor of the Moore Center overlooking memorial stadium. Home to our Girls and Boys Weightlifting teams as well as our Athletic Department Sport Performance.
Moore Center Film Room
The Film Room, located on the first floor of the Moore Center with views of the Joe Skinner Baseball Field, is an ideal space for reviewing and analyzing game footage. With a large projector, Apple TV, and seating for approximately 60 people, this room is designed to accommodate teams for in-depth film study and tactical analysis. The space enhances preparation for competition, providing coaches and athletes with the tools needed to elevate performance.
