Program Success
Our program has established a strong legacy as three straight Class 4A State Finalists from 2022 to 2024. We also proudly earned the title of Class 4A FHSAA Boys Soccer Academic Team Champion for the 2023-2024 season. Since 1979, the first year Bishop Moore began playing FHSAA boys soccer, the Hornets have won 38 out of 46 district championships, showcasing our commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
Tom Hage has dedicated 30 years to coaching, with a remarkable tenure of 18 years at Bishop Moore Catholic High School, where he currently serves as the head coach for boys’ and girls’ tennis, as well as boys’ varsity soccer. He also has 3 years of experience coaching boys' JV soccer at Bishop Moore. His coaching career began at Poinciana High School, where he spent 12 years coaching various teams, including girls’ varsity soccer, boys’ varsity soccer, and boys’ tennis. Tom holds a BA in Mathematics from Rollins College and a Master’s in Math Education from the University of Florida. Over his extensive career, he has amassed an impressive record of 12 regional championships and 4 state runner-up titles. Notable achievements include coaching two Dairy Farmers Players of the Year—David Shafer (2014) and Omar Rivera (2022)—and developing several players who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, such as Spencer Moler (Liberty), Matthew McCall (Eckerd), Colin Sadtler (Belmont Abbey), Nick Santiago (Baruch College), Dani Galeano (Belmont Abbey), and Molly Hencken (Belmont Abbey). In addition to his coaching accolades, Tom is set to celebrate his 30th year with a milestone 1400th game or match, a testament to his enduring passion and commitment to the sport.
