Carolista Ware brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as Head Track and Field Coach at BMC, a position she has held for 16 years. With 29 years of coaching across various sports including basketball, track and field, and softball, Carolista has a proven track record of success. Her coaching accolades include leading the boys' track and field team to a state championship in 2021 and guiding the girls' team to a state runner-up finish in 2007. Her dedication has helped numerous athletes advance to compete in track and field at over 30 colleges and universities. Carolista holds an M.S. in Sports Management from American Public University and a B.S. in Fitness and Wellness from Brewton Parker College. A passionate supporter of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, she proudly embraces everything Gamecocks!
Facilities
Gymnasium
The Gymnasium, constructed in 2002, has undergone significant renovations in 2024, including a remodeled back hallway. This facility features separate locker rooms for boys and girls, a classroom, a film room, and an athletic department suite. The recent updates also include a newly renovated athletic training room and a fueling station designed to support athlete nutrition, enhancing the overall experience for student-athletes.
Memorial Stadium and Harry Nelson Field
Memorial Stadium, home to Harry Nelson Field, was built in 1982 and honors the legacy of Harry Nelson, a significant figure in our community. In 2013, the stadium saw the installation of an artificial turf field, enhancing the playing surface for athletes. A new track was added in 2022, further elevating the facility's capabilities. Most recently, a state-of-the-art video board was installed in 2024, providing an immersive experience for fans and players alike.
Bowling Alley
The Aloma Bowl is the official home of Hornet Bowling, providing an excellent venue for both practice and competition. With its well-maintained lanes and welcoming atmosphere, the bowling alley supports our athletes in honing their skills and competing at a high level, fostering a strong sense of community within the program.
