BMC Athletics Mission Statement

To provide a Christ-centered, transformative experience for our student-athletes.

Welcome to the home of HORNET ATHLETICS! As the school's #1 co-curricular activity, more than 850 of our students choose to participate in athletics at Bishop Moore Catholic. Competing for the Hornets offers our students the opportunity to train with our dedicated coaches at our campus' premier athletic facilities. BMC is a proud member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). We participate in 28 sanctioned or recognized sports and offer spirit cheer, band/color guard, winter guard, and dance.

2023-2024 resulted in yet another profound year for Bishop Moore Catholic, and the future is as bright as ever.  In addition to capturing a third consecutive National Championship in Dance, third consecutive State Championship in Girls Soccer, State Runners Up in Boys Soccer, and Girls Volleyball, Player AND Coach of the Year honors in Girls Soccer; BMC Athletics has once again been cemented as a top 10 high school athletic program in the state of Florida. This feat comes off of the heels of winning Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Class 5A Athletic Program of the Year in 2021-2022 and Academic Team Champion in 2022-2023. The consistency proves how committed and well-rounded our Hornets are both in the classroom and at their sports.

Athletics teaches our young men and women the value of leadership, teamwork, and overcoming adversity. Our athletic administration and coaches are dedicated to their craft and work to provide our athletes with a transformative experience all while our students develop a personal relationship with Christ. As part of our school identity and Catholic mission, BMC varsity teams engage in formative team-building functions and pre-season retreats, which are led by our Campus Ministry Department.

We support a healthy, active lifestyle and encourage all BMC students to get involved in athletics or other extra-curricular activities. Participating in multiple sports is also strongly encouraged, as cross-training develops a variety of skill sets and provides more formative opportunities from a myriad of coaches. The challenges faced and friendships solidified will last our athletes a lifetime.
