Bishop Moore Catholic Athletics Mission Statement

To provide an opportunity for growth in leadership and team building through exemplary athletic programs; that engage our student athletes with the catholic community through outreach and service while strengthening the Bishop Moore legacy.

Welcome to the home of HORNET ATHLETICS! Hornet athletics never stops! Bishop Moore Catholic offers the opportunity for students to participate and train with our dedicated coaches on our campus with premier facilities. Year after year, our teams accumulate district, region, state and national accolades along with the attention our athletes get from top-rated college programs.

BMC is a proud member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). We participate in 28 sanctioned or recognized sports, and offer spirit cheer, band/color guard, and winter guard. Over 780 students participate in these sports/activities. 2019-2020 begins a new two-year classification cycle with the Hornets in class 4A.

The 2018-2019 athletic year proved to be another successful year on the field with the Hornets accumulating 12 district championships, 6 region championships, 2 team (competition cheer, and adaptive track) state championships and 4 individual state championships. Additionally, we earned a 5th place finish in the Orlando Sentinel Super 6 rankings, and a 2nd place finish in the FHSAA All sports Award for class 6A. Off the field, the Hornets finished 6th in overall team GPA with a 3.48 average for all varsity sports. For the 2018-2019, academic year, 35 student athletes received scholarship opportunities to play at the next level.

Our coaches are dedicated and work very hard to prepare our athletes on the field or court. They teach our athletes the value of leadership and teamwork. BMC varsity teams have the opportunity to participate in team building functions, like our pre-season retreats, led by our Peer Ministry Department. These experiences develop our athletes spiritually, and provide important team bonding prior to their respective seasons.

We encourage all BMC students to get involved in athletics, or other extra-curricular activities. Participating in multiple sports is strongly encouraged, if desired by an athlete. It provides a chance for diverse friendships and athletic challenges.
