Student Life - Bishop Moore Catholic

Student Life at Bishop Moore Catholic is vibrant and alive. We offer over 50 student-led organizations that reflect the diversity of student interests and student life on campus. Through communities like Peer Ministry, Hornets for Life, Best Buddies, and the Multicultural Club, students are provided opportunities to explore their interests, hone their talents, and become leaders engaged in the world.

Community Service

In 1954, the Sisters of St. Joseph founded Bishop Moore Catholic with the charism of “love for dear neighbor.” Our school seeks to continue this mission and form young men and women who leave BMC to “serve as the light of Christ” in the world. Our community service program is meant to inspire our students to make a gift of themselves to others. By fulfilling the community service requirements, our students are exposed to the needs of others and encouraged to find creative ways to share the light of Christ in a tangible way.

BMC Speech and Debate hosted an impressive showcase last night, highlighting a selection of student competitors who will represent our program at the international championship this summer. Deacon Dave Camous, Head Coach of the BMC Speech and Debate team, shared that Speech and Debate is the largest high school competitive academic activity in the United States, with more than 170,000 students participating each year. He also shared that BMC's Speech and Debate team ranks at the top of the Speech and Debate programs in Central Florida. Speech and Debate is comprised of three main categories: Platform Speaking, Interpretation, and Debate. Pictured here are several speech events, thoughtfully and skillfully performed by our talented students.

Over the Easter break, members of our Band Program participated in the Private School Solo & Ensemble Festival held at Trinity Prep. The BMC Clarinet quartet included Jude S., Nathan M., Mateo C.D., and Nick W. They performed "Canzonetta and Scherzo" by Belden Leonard for adjudication and received a "Superior" Rating. The BMC Flute Quartet included Isabella J., Mimi C. G., Hein N., and Natalie R. They performed "Flûtes En Vacances" by Alphonse LeDuc for adjudication and received a Superior Rating. Congratulations to these young musicians for their dedication and hard work.
