The Film and Television program at Bishop Moore Catholic, known as Hornet Productions, provides students with hands-on experience in storytelling through a journalistic and production-driven approach. Students learn to research, write, and produce meaningful content that informs, engages, and reflects real-world perspectives.
Beginning with foundational study in film, media history, and visual storytelling, students develop skills in cinematography, audio, editing, and production design. As they advance, the program emphasizes professional workflows, collaboration, and the full production cycle—from concept to final delivery.
At the highest levels, students engage in broadcast journalism and multimedia reporting, producing news packages, interviews, and feature stories that cover school and community events. Through a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, students refine their abilities in investigative research, ethical reporting, and visual storytelling while building a professional portfolio.
Hornet Productions prepares students for continued study and careers in media, communications, and related fields by developing both the technical skills and editorial judgment required in today’s media landscape.
