Attendance is vital to student success. When students are absent, they miss important content and class discussions that no amount of personal study can replicate. Please try to schedule medical appointments and family vacations when school is not in session.

Attendance Updates/Reminders for 2025-2026 School Year

If a student is absent, please remember to have the student submit a completed absent/tardy form to the Attendance Office on the day they return to school, along with any pertinent notes. A doctor’s note is required for three or more consecutive absences for the absence to be excused.

BMC will send out a reminder email on the day of the absence to turn in the absent/tardy form upon return to school.

When students need to be dismissed early from school for medical, legal, or any other official appointment, they must present a completed request for early dismissal form to the Attendance Office before 7:40 AM on the day of the early dismissal. Upon the parent's arrival, the student will be called out of class and dismissed from the Attendance  Office. Students may not be called out of Mass or an assembly for early dismissal. Parents should report to the Attendance Office to sign a student out no later than 45 minutes before the end of the school day, (2:15 Mo, Tu, Th, Fr, 1:45 on Wednesdays).

Field Trips

Parent permission forms must be completed and returned to the appropriate teacher at least 48 hours before a scheduled field trip. Field trips are part of the official school day at BMC and as such, are subject to the same rules and regulations, including dress code, volunteer requirements, and attendance.
