As a Catholic school, we recognize that the ultimate destiny for each of our students is eternal life with the Blessed Trinity. The Campus Ministry office exists to provide students with ongoing spiritual formation and unique experiences to serve others and encounter the Lord. In our Campus Ministry Center, students can engage in Bible studies, and discipleship groups, or relax during their free periods in a space that is both comfortable and open to all. For more information about our events and other ways to enrich your faith, see below.

Mass

The Sacrifice of the Mass is the source and summit of our Catholic faith.  In other words, the Mass is the most important and sacred form of prayer. At the Mass, we are nourished by the Word and the Eucharist (Jesus fully present in the form of bread and wine).

Morning Mass

Morning Mass is available to students on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7:10am in the St. Joseph Chapel (located in Mary Martha Hall). Students are invited to attend and their attendance will be taken there in lieu of homeroom. Mass is over in time for 1st period. Parents are welcome to join our community for any Mass.

Mass as a School Community

Mass is celebrated by the whole school monthly in the gym.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Qualified applicants who are called by God and approved by the church can serve at BMC as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. This unique and sacred ministry is an amazing experience of Jesus' real presence in the Eucharist and the power of the church's liturgy. Students who are interested in becoming an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion should contact Deacon Jackie at jackier@bishopmoore.org

Reconciliation

Twice a year, during Advent and Lent, students are offered an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Priests from across the diocese come to hear the students’ confessions and offer God’s boundless mercy to them. Additionally, every first Wednesday of the month, a priest is present during lunch periods to offer the sacrament. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the most unique and beautiful aspects of Catholicism. Jesus Christ, in His abundant love and mercy, established the Sacrament of Confession, so that we as sinners can obtain forgiveness for our sins and reconcile with God and the Church. The sacrament “washes us clean,” and renews us in Christ.

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’” (John 20:21-23).

Peer Ministry

Our peer ministry is a comprehensive program for students that provides service and ministry opportunities for helping other students grow in their relationships with God and others. Peer Ministers volunteer during class retreats, spirit and charity drives, and at our school liturgies. They receive prayerful training and guidance from campus ministry staff that empowers them to share their faith with others.

Community Service

Community service hours will be available online in mid-June. You will receive your past community service hours in the mail along with instructions on how to access the hours. In the future, you will enter your community service hours online, then turn in the form to the main office, and we will approve your hours upon verification of the service.

If you have any questions related to community service, please email the Counseling Office.

  • If you want to be happy for an hour, go watch T.V.
  • If you want to be happy for a day, go to an amusement park.
  • If you want to be happy for a lifetime, go out and help others!

Community service is more than a requirement for graduation. It is the simple act of giving to others who may be less fortunate. It is a journey on our walk of faith.
