Today's Family of Faith guest speaker was author and current parent Erika Johnson, who shared her witness as to how God repaired her broken heart after losing her husband. Erika learned how to navigate her new normal with God by her side. She found a new purpose to help others who have experienced a profound grief and established the ministry, Widows of Faith. We are grateful to Erika for sharing her beautiful witness with our BMC community. On Thursday, April 30th, Bishop Moore Catholic traveled with a group of 30 students on a mini pilgrimage to St. Augustine. The trip began with Mass at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. Many of our students had done the 33-day preparation for Consecration to Jesus through Mary, and they had the opportunity to pray the final prayer of Consecration at the Shrine following Mass. After exploring the historic section of the city, we ended the day with a beautiful visit to the Mother House of the Sisters of St. Joseph and their museum. The Mother Superior spoke to our students about the foundation of our school and the values of unity and reconciliation they hoped would be instilled in all our students. They even pulled old pictures of our school during those founding years. Our students loved to see our roots, to learn about the sisters, and to be strengthened in their identity as Hornets.

Last evening’s spring choir concert, “For the Glory of God,” was a joyful celebration of student talent, faith, and creativity, drawing more than 220 guests. Students delivered spirited performances, including arrangements of “The Word Was God” and “To the Light,” along with a memorable senior choir rendition of ABBA’s “Thank You for the Music.” A highlight of the evening was senior Olivia C.’s original composition, “Graduation Cord,” a reflective and heartfelt piece inspired by her high school journey.
