Bishop Moore Catholic Student Media Participation & Content Contribution Agreement
The Bishop Moore Catholic Student Media Program provides students with opportunities to develop their photography, videography, broadcasting, and journalism skills while documenting the activities, achievements, and experiences of our school community.
Students participating in the program serve as representatives of Bishop Moore Catholic High School. Participation is a privilege that carries responsibilities to the school, its students, and the broader community. These expectations apply to all approved student media participants, regardless of course enrollment or equipment ownership.
Media Authorization and Access
- Students must receive authorization from the appropriate faculty advisor or school administrator before participating in an event as a school media representative.
- Media credentials and event access are granted at the discretion of Bishop Moore Catholic and may be restricted or revoked at any time.
- Students must obtain approval for each event they intend to cover unless otherwise authorized. Previous access does not guarantee approval for future events.
- Media credentials do not automatically grant access to sidelines, playing surfaces, locker rooms, backstage areas, or other restricted locations.
- Students must comply with all school, Athletics Department, FHSAA, venue, and event-specific policies and instructions.
- Students are expected to conduct themselves professionally and avoid interfering with participants, officials, spectators, or event operations.
- Independent Off-Campus Coverage: Students may voluntarily attend off-campus events to photograph or record activities involving Bishop Moore Catholic. Unless expressly authorized by school administration, such attendance is independent and does not constitute an official school assignment. Students are responsible for arranging transportation, obtaining admission or media access directly from the host venue, and complying with all applicable event policies. Participation in the Student Media Program does not guarantee or endorse access to events hosted by other organizations.
Service to the School Community
Participation in the Student Media Program is intended to serve Bishop Moore Catholic and its community. Students granted media access are expected to fulfill their assigned responsibilities, contribute meaningful coverage, and prioritize the needs of the school over personal interests.
- Students must make a good-faith effort to fulfill their assigned coverage responsibilities, including documenting the event or activity as directed by their faculty advisor.
- Students are expected to capture a representative collection of photographs or other media that reflects the event, rather than focusing exclusively on particular individuals or personal interests.
- Media access may not be used for personal financial gain or independent commercial purposes.
- Students may not sell photographs or videos, solicit paid assignments, accept payment for event coverage, or otherwise monetize content produced through school-granted media access.
- Students may not use school-issued media credentials to promote or operate a personal photography or videography business.
- Students may not withhold photographs or videos from the school for the purpose of selling or exclusively distributing their work.
- Students may use approved work in personal educational portfolios, college applications, or demonstrations of their skills, provided such use complies with school publication policies, privacy requirements, and applicable event restrictions.
Media Submission and Vidigami Requirements
A core responsibility of all Student Media Program participants is contributing their work to Bishop Moore Catholic through Vidigami, the school's designated platform for sharing photography and other supported media with the school community.
This requirement applies to all students participating in the program, regardless of whether they use personally owned or school-provided equipment.
- Students must submit their usable, school-appropriate photographs and other supported media from approved assignments to Vidigami.
- Media must be uploaded promptly following each event and within any deadline established by the supervising faculty advisor.
- Students are expected to submit a representative collection of their work, including their strongest images, rather than reserving selected content for personal distribution.
- Submitted photographs must be of sufficient quality and resolution for school publications and community use.
- Submitted work must not contain promotional watermarks, advertisements, or commercial branding.
- Students must follow established procedures for organizing, labeling, and submitting media.
- Videos and other media that cannot be submitted directly to Vidigami must be delivered through an alternative school-approved method as directed by the faculty advisor.
- Submission of media does not guarantee publication or distribution. Bishop Moore Catholic reserves the right to review, select, edit, and manage submitted content in accordance with school policies.
- Students grant Bishop Moore Catholic nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, archive, and distribute submitted work for school-related educational, editorial, athletic, promotional, and community purposes, subject to applicable privacy and consent requirements.
Copyright Ownership and Media Usage Rights
Students participating in the Bishop Moore Catholic Student Media Program retain copyright ownership of their original photographs, videos, and other media unless otherwise established by a separate written agreement.
In consideration of participation in the Student Media Program and the opportunities provided through school-approved media access, students grant Bishop Moore Catholic High School a perpetual, nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use media created and submitted in connection with their participation in the program.
This permission includes, but is not limited to, the following:

- Providing submitted media to authorized school departments, publishers, production partners, and service providers for approved school-related purposes.
- Continuing to use and archive submitted work after a student's graduation, withdrawal, or departure from the Student Media Program.
Students acknowledge that Bishop Moore Catholic may use submitted media for authorized school purposes without additional permission, compensation, or royalty payments. This includes publications or materials distributed or sold by the school, such as the yearbook.
This agreement does not transfer copyright ownership to Bishop Moore Catholic. Students retain the right to use their original work for educational portfolios, college applications, and other permitted noncommercial purposes, subject to school policies, privacy requirements, and applicable venue restrictions.
Students affirm that they have the necessary rights to grant permission for the original media they submit. Any third-party copyrighted materials must be appropriately authorized before submission.
All media usage remains subject to applicable student privacy policies, publication permissions, and restrictions imposed by event organizers or host venues.
