Spencer is responsible for the oversight of the city's response to dive rescue, rope rescue, collapse rescue, and confined space rescue, as well as natural and man-made disasters.

He has received 2 unit citations for admirable performance on fires where victims were rescued from within the structure and was promoted to District Chief in 2020.

From an early age, Spencer recognized God's plan for him. He was drawn to the fire service as a child and lived out his dream, beginning his career at 18 years old. Thanks to the faith-based learning received at Bishop Moore, Spencer listened to the calling and bypassed numerous academic scholarships to attend the fire College. He placed higher education on hold to fulfill God's plan. Spencer was fortunate to have mentors like Coach Saulpaugh, who encouraged Spencer to pray about the decision and ensured him that God had a plan. This mentorship was much needed at a time when most of the graduating class was preparing themselves for college. The value Bishop Moore placed on education was not forgotten. Spencer went on to complete his bachelor's degree in Public Administration.

During his high-school years, Spencer was an explorer for the Orlando Fire Department. In essence, a junior firefighter that rode on the trucks with the firemen, learning the job. After graduation, Spencer gave back to this program that prepares the community's youth for a career in the fire service. Spencer currently serves on Florida's Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 4, which deploys to natural and man-made disasters around the country. Most recently, Task Force 4 was deployed to the Surfside Building Collapse where they spent 7 days searching for survivors and recovering the remains of those lost.

Spencer lives out his faith by serving our community and raising his children in the faith. Prior to each deployment, Spencer and his wife, Amanda, pray for his safe return and trust in God's plan. They spend every day teaching their children the values they learned through their Catholic education.

Dominic Buckley was ordained on May 25, 2013.

Father Dominic serves as a priest of the Diocese of Orlando and a doctoral candidate who serves as Director of Pre-Theology and Assistant Professor of Philosophy at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach.

Sarah Burbank studied Biology and Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame, where she continued to learn more about the teachings of Catholic Social Justice and dedication to serving the "least among us." This led Sarah to pursue a career in medicine with a specific focus on caring for immigrant populations and patients experiencing homelessness and addiction.

Sarah has accepted a position with the San Francisco Veterans Hospital as the Chief Resident in Quality and Safety, where she will begin her primary care practice serving San Francisco's veteran population.

Bishop Moore Catholic gave Andrew the structure and knowledge in life and in faith that prepared him for the future.

A highlight of Andrew's baseball career was being part of the 2015 World Series Championship team, the Kansas City Royals.

Drew serves his community by hosting a Top Golf event (Top Dog Classic with Drew Butera) for a local charity, cheering up fans whom he visits during their hospital stays, and hosting baseball camps for youth. Drew is a hall of fame inductee for BMC, a member of MLB for Life, and he is a speaker for the Italian-American baseball foundation.

Drew lives out his faith by using his gifts to bring joy to people and communities around him.

Drew received his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in Integrative Biology and his doctorate degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Drew has been voted Best Dentist in Winter Park for the last 7 years in a row.

Drew shared that Bishop Moore laid the spiritual and academic foundation for him to be able to set and accomplish his goals. The education that he received inspired him to become a faithful catholic husband and father who gets to help people every day through his role as a dentist at Park Smiles Dentistry in Winter Park. If it wasn’t for the supportive, faithful environment at Bishop Moore, Drew may not have been as receptive to hearing God’s calling in his life.

Drew has been blessed to go on 7 dental mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala with the Christian Dental Society from the University of Florida. He feels that dentistry is a calling and he wants to use his gifts to bless others. While it has become harder to travel to foreign countries these days, there are plenty of people within Central Florida who need help. Drew is excited to begin planning a free dental day at Park Smiles Dentistry.

He and his wife, Julie are active parishioners at their church. Drew was also one of the founding board members of the Orlando Chapter of Young Catholic Professionals.

“During the summer between my freshman and sophomore year at Bishop Moore, I was able to attend Catholic Heart Work Camp. During one prayer session at the camp, I was struck by the realization that Jesus is real and that He loves us enough that He was willing to die on the cross to save us from our sins. That truth struck me in a way that changed my life forever.”

During various roles in the corporate marketing and events world, Alexandra found what made her heart feel the fullest: giving her time and treasure to the community. She dedicated her spare time to assisting special-needs college students, leading events for JDRF N. Florida, mentoring students, and volunteering at her parish.

Alexandra’s greatest passion is her faith, and it stems from her time and experience at Bishop Moore where she was able to serve as an Extraordinary Minister and share her witness on retreats. These experiences contributed to her continued parish involvement. Alexandra was appointed to the Finance Council at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra, Florida, where she and her husband are parishioners. Through the Finance Council, Alexandra is currently leading fundraising efforts to support the capital campaign to build out a new church campus.

Sarah graduated from Christendom College in 2007 with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in History. Sarah taught for 11 years then went back to school and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a MA Ed. L (Masters in Educational Leadership) in 2020. Sarah is now in her 4th year as principal of École Notre Dame des Victoires which is a TK-8th grade school in downtown San Francisco.

Sarah volunteers most of her time at NDV because she is also a parent there. Her daughter, Pauline, is in 6th grade and son, Xavier, is in 5th.

Last summer, Sarah served as a teaching assistant at the University of Notre Dame in the MA Ed.L program's School Culture class. She also served on the 2020 Archdiocese of San Francisco school reopening committee and currently serves on the Archdiocese of San Francisco Professional Development Committee. In addition, Sarah serves as a formal mentor for principals/leaders in the MA Ed.L program at ND and for new teachers in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Kristen is a pediatric dentist at Kids Only Dental Place in Gainesville, FL.

Kristen is passionate about helping special needs children and adults as well as the underserved community. In dental school, she went on mission trips with the Christian dental society as well as led a group to the Dominican Republic where they were able to provide dental care to hundreds of people in need. She hopes to continue this in the future as well as in her community and practice. Nothing gives her greater satisfaction than using here God given talents in helping those that do not have access to care.

She has served as a Dental Assistant at Tacachale Disability Center, a facility for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. She aids with treatment planning, oral surgery procedures, periodontal maintenance, and restorative procedure.

Kristen served as a public liaison for Smiley Gators, a Pediatric dental organization that advocates for children’s oral health, and organized events for speakers and public events. She is the current fundraising chair for this organization.

Kristen is also one of the founding members of Infusion Smiles. Infusion Smiles presents oral hygiene instructions and info about side effects, and distributes dental goodie bags to children and teens undergoing chemotherapy in the Oncology wing at UF Health.

Kristen planned, organized, & fundraised for a mission trip to a rural area in the Dominican Republic where a group of 30 students and 5 dental faculty were able to provide free dental treatment to over 700 patients.

Handlin has been in the real estate industry for 2 years and was recently promoted to VP of L# Capital. He is part of the ESG committee at L3 where they’re working on ways to make sure the company’s real estate investments have a positive impact on the environment.

While in high school, Handlin had no idea what he wanted to do with his life or where he wanted to go to college, but he was very academically competitive, and BMC was the perfect setting to continually challenge him to guide the competitiveness to an end goal, which in this case was attending Georgetown for his undergraduate degree.

Handlin’s spirituality has evolved throughout his life but its impact on my education is uniquely profound. From grade school at Annunciation, high school at BMC, and then Georgetown, spirituality has been interwoven with his schooling and given him a unique sense of community in all areas of life.

Aubrey is recognized in the BMC community for being the fourth generation to attend St. Margaret Mary. Her great grandmother was the first Kindergarten teacher, her grandfather and father both attended, then Aubrey attended and is now teaching at the school.

Aubrey is also the third generation to attend BMCHS and is among 15+ family members to graduate. BMC was like a home to her and helped contribute to her faith foundation and provided her with lifelong friendships. Her experience at BMC paved the way for the person she is today.

Aubrey received her master's in Special Education and works as a first-grade teacher. She serves as the Vice President of Kicking Kids' Cancer Foundation, which raises money for pediatric cancer research in our community. She is also the Sponsorship Communications and Marketing Ambassador for Haddis Ministries (started by her family) which serves impoverished children in Ethiopia.

Aubrey was born and raised Catholic and has a strong belief in God and trust in his plan. She uses her faith to teach and live by example for her students. Through many service opportunities and mission trips, she is able to work as a steward, spreading God's message through words and actions.

After receiving her BA from the University of Florida, Jennifer was drafted by the WNBA, Indiana Fever. Jennifer played overseas professionally in Spain and Puerto Rico for 2 years. In 2018, Jennifer was named an SEC Legend for her years playing at the University of Florida.

Jennifer felt called to create a non-profit organization, Girls Basketball Worldwide Foundation, in 2020. Its mission is to build and renovate basketball courts in underserved communities so that young girls can learn the game. The group also provides training to local coaches so they're able to successfully run girls’ programs to encourage an active lifestyle beyond basketball

Nicholas is a wonderful friend and family member. Every life he touches has benefited from interacting with him. He always puts God and his family first and is a role model on how to lead a family, through good times and tough times. He continues to support God's word and not only strives to be successful in his professional life but also in his personal life. Nicholas is a prime example of the kind of Alumni Bishop Moore should be proud to have.

Nick graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and later earned his Master of Business Administration.

Currently, Nick serves his community pridefully at the Orlando Fire Department as a firefighter. In his off time from the firehouse, he works a second job as a Real Estate Agent and recently, was a Top 10 Agent at Kelly Price. Nicholas is an active member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

Troy earned his Master of Engineering with a focus in Mechanical/Aerospace from NC State. Troy helped code and test combat simulators in Orlando, FL for Northrop Grumman, has worked at the Wind-Turbine Drive-train Testing Facility on the Naval base in Charleston, SC, and has worked as a facilities engineer in New Jersey. He also designed and built tractors using virtual reality for John Deere for 3 years in Raleigh, NC. Troy is now working as a CAD applications engineer/admin at Sealed Air (who invented bubble wrap in Charlotte).

Like most teens, Troy took his time at Bishop Moore for granted. Looking back, Troy realized Bishop Moore gave him a home, and it was the place where he made friends who became like family.

Troy believes travel has brought him closer to God. It was eye-opening to talk with people from all backgrounds and hear how different and, more often than not, how similar we are. Troy was blessed to have had the opportunity to visit 20 different countries, go scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, hang glide in the Swiss Alps, visit the Vatican, and backpack through Europe.

Danielle is the Founder of Alma Ocean, a startup designing patent-pending, culturally-inspired pool floats and water accessories for all. She is also the Event Producer & Tour Manager for XL Events Lab. In 2016, Danielle founded her first business, Indigenous Coconut Oil.

She received her associate’s degree from Borough of Manhattan Community College.

Danielle has volunteered for many organizations over the years like Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Covenant House Florida, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Florida.

Matt Hunt created a boutique cigar company at 19 and is now in 95 retailers across the country. Matt has received numerous Top 25 Cigars of the Year accolades. In addition, he started a premium sauce company with friends and has created a presence online and in Orlando and Atlanta retailers. Matt accepted the Vice President of Latin America position with Reliant Supply Group and quickly received a promotion to Chief Foreign Affairs Officer which oversees all sales and sourcing development abroad.

Bishop Moore solidified the Catholic foundation that his parents established in him growing up. He truly believes that it was the immersive Catholic experience that prepared him to be the Christian God intended him to be. To go out into the world with full confidence of his faith and his responsibilities to represent it. BMC also gave him unforgettable athletic memories, prepared him to pursue higher learning, and left him with some of his closest friends.

Matt loves giving back to his community by donating auction items to amazing organizations such as JDRF, St. Mary Magdalen Catholic, and Gateway Orlando. It is also always a joy to participate in and donate to such events as the Anti-Golf Tournament that supports the Hope for More Foundation.

“Every day I have so many opportunities to live out my faith. The two most significant areas are in my businesses and in my own nieces’s and nephews’s faith development. In all my dealings, I allow my morals to direct how I conduct my business. Whether that is how my products are ethically sourced or by my business partners and teams seeing Christ through my actions and values. With my family, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be the Godfather to a number of young Christians in my family and a guide to all of them. Having them all in Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Orlando has given me an amazing gift of being able to show support at all of their ministries and events, along with being there to hold their hand through their journey of faith.”

Bobby Isola joined the JLL Orlando office in 2018. He specializes in representing industrial real estate tenants and owners in the Central Florida market. Caroline Johnson is a doctoral-prepared pediatric acute care nurse practitioner. She has spent the majority of her clinical career in the pediatric cardiac intensive care setting. Caroline currently works for East Applications as a Client Experience Specialist. Ease Applications is a healthcare technology company that allows secure, HIPAA- compliant communication between healthcare providers and patients’ loved ones during surgery. The software allows nurses and physicians to send real-time text messages, pictures, and videos to patients’ loved ones from the operating room. This business was started by Dr. Kevin de la Roza and Patrick de la Roza, Bishop Moore alumni who also happen to be Caroline’s first cousins. The company’s success has exploded since the pandemic and was purchased by Vocera in 2020.

Caroline graduated from the University of Florida and is married to BMC classmate, Lucien Johnson '11. Caroline and Lucien sponsor a child through Haddis Ministries, an organization founded by the Dunn family.

Caroline is one in a long line of BMC Hornets. Caroline’s aunt, Maria Boudet, was honored at BMC Legacy Gala 2021.

Grace has always had a desire to serve others in whatever way she could. This desire led her closer to God, the ultimate source of help, and to go from a career in physical therapy to religious life. She joined The Mercerderian Sisters Community on August 13, 2020. Sr. Grace enjoys watching all the sisters file into the chapel to pray the Divine Office four times a day and praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Austin serves as a play-by-play announcer for various sporting events, including UCF basketball, baseball, and volleyball, for ESPN, along with high school state championships and various other college and professional sporting events.

In his career, Austin has done play-by-play announcing for more than 1,000 sporting events. Austin was an anchor and reporter for Bright House Sports Network and Spectrum Sports before being promoted to executive producer and overseeing the sports department at Spectrum News 13. Austin was the company's 2014 Employee of the Year. He also worked for NBC at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and hosted specials for the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four, the NFL Draft, the College Football Playoff, and National Signing Day for Bright House Sports Network.

Bishop Moore has had a tremendous impact on Austin’s life. When he arrived as a freshman, the slogan they used was 'four years that make a lifetime of difference' and Austin feels this could not be more appropriate to his life. He made lifelong friends and was afforded incredible opportunities as a result of his time at Bishop Moore.

In giving back to the community, Austin served as a mentor to aspiring broadcasters at area high schools as well as UCF and Full Sail. He also volunteered as a coach with the Altamonte Springs Babe Ruth baseball league.

Mike has remained in the top 10% of performers in sales at Stryker and has received a myriad of awards throughout his career. He credits Bishop Moore Catholic for the foundation on which he has built his family and career. Integrity, hard work, passion, faith, and love for others are just a few of the many things that BMC instilled in him.

Mike is a volunteer baseball coach and active in his parish where he volunteers with his family. Mike says, “I try to always treat others as I would want to be treated and constantly look inwardly to see if I am doing a good job of this goal.”

Bishop Moore played an integral role in Larry and Miguel’s development as athletes. Both varsity athletes, Larry and Miguel fostered team building and leadership skills during their time at BMCHS, all while laying the foundation for the sense of community they would one day forge at SUBU CrossFit. They founded SUBU CrossFit in 2010 in a backyard, and made it official with their brick and mortar location in downtown Orlando in June of 2012, just miles away from BMCHS. This year, they celebrate 10 years of SUBU. Larry and Miguel have become pillars of the community. They are synonymous with SUBU CrossFit and the reason why their 170 members are as loyal as they come, now, one decade in. SUBU has grown in membership by 466% since its founding.

Each year, Miguel and Larry host a fundraiser at SUBU called Burpees for Bucks (B4B) in support of the local community. The intention of B4B is and always will be to improve the community through fitness. They feel the most overlooked demographic in our community is the underprivileged youth of Orlando. They are simply victims of circumstance. The goal of B4B is to raise as much awareness, and funds, for these young people that deserve an opportunity. Each year, B4B raises money for a local charity that supports the youth of Orlando by doing burpees. For every dollar raised, members promise to do one burpee. All of the money raised goes directly to providing aid and assistance for young people experiencing homelessness and other hardships. Over $250,000 has been raised so far through B4B.

Miguel and Larry live out their faith and values by supporting the community through fitness. As a local small business, SUBU understands the role they play in the community and the influence they have to make even the slightest difference in people’s lives.

While a student at the University of Florida, Ben was the editor for the University of Florida Law Review and played baseball for the Gators where he made 2 College World Series appearances and was All-SEC Academic Honor Roll. Ben played professional baseball for 3 years in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He then graduated with Honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Bishop Moore provided Benjamin with every opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, and athletically. At Bishop Moore, he learned the importance of hard work and self-discipline, both of which have helped him reach his goals.

Having recently moved back to the Orlando area, he looks forward to participating in pro bono opportunities and contributing to some of his firm’s community projects.

Each day he strives to be the best husband, father, sibling, son, and friend that he can be. This includes putting others before himself and being reliable to the people that he loves.

Tony is involved with many BMC-connected activities. He is either attending events at his parish, non-profit events through classmates, or supporting BMC alumni. As a coach, he tries to mold his players to be good people on and off the field.

Tony’s son, Mason, was born with heart disease and he and his wife partnered with local Childhood Heart Disease Charities to help with CHD Awareness. With the monies raised, the Mehlich’s provided gifts to Arnold Palmer's Pediatric Cardiac Unit over the years and continue to support charities that support CHD Awareness.

Alejandro, or Alex, recently was named an equity partner at Shrader Law where he helps guide people in times of need and uncertainty. Alex uses God’s message of loving your neighbor as yourself on a daily basis. “I truly believe that God guided me down the path to becoming a lawyer so I can help people and be a voice for those in need,” Alejandro said.

Alejandro has also served with Samaritans Feet. Samaritans Feet provides shoes to those who cannot afford them. The most impactful part of working with Samaritans Feet, Alejandro believes, is “that when we provide shoes to those in need, we also wash their feet, just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.”

Matt received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida and graduated with his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law. Matt Morgan has dedicated his practice to civil justice.

In addition to his work as an attorney, Matt collaborated with Florida officials in 2020 to establish the Community Bail Fund, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the widespread incarceration of individuals who have been arrested for non-violent offenses but lack the financial means to pay bail. The Community Bail Fund has helped post bonds for over 300 individuals to the tune of nearly half a million dollars.

Matt is also a Board Member at Make-A-Wish Foundation and sponsors Walk for Wishes, a nationwide Make-A-Wish fundraiser that supports granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Kara and her husband, Greg Olsen, founded the HEARTest Yard Fund, after their son, T.J., was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The HEARTest Yard’s goal, in collaboration with Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, is to provide healthcare support and services to ease the transition from the hospital to home for families of infants affected by congenital heart disease. One of its key focuses is to prevent complications and re-admissions to the hospital between stages of recovery. The HEARTest Yard Congenital Heart Center is a wing of the Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital.

Matt and his brothers were responsible for the formation/ownership of Hanover Family Builders in 2018 which was sold to Landsea Homes in 2022 for roughly $280,000,000. Previously, Matt was Co-President/Owner involved in a similar start-up in 2010 with Royal Oak Homes which was sold to AV Homes in 2014. Matt also serves as a Director of Hanover Capital Partners and manages all investment activities for the industrial/residential portfolio.

In service to his community, Matt is a director within the Orosz Family Foundation which primarily supports education and opportunities for the overachieving, but underserved portion of our community. Matt was most recently on the board of the Elevation Scholars program and is active in the Anua' program supporting entrepreneurial activities in rural portions of Kenya.

Matt shares that "Living out my faith is a constant journey with its own twists and turns. I have embraced that the faith journey is never easy, but grows stronger by focusing on bringing out the best in others. The quote, "there are no shortcuts to a place worth going" comes to mind when it comes to my faith journey. I remain grateful and blessed to have the Bishop Moore Catholic Foundation which has provided strong roots for my faith that continues to grow and spread."

Alberto was responsible for overseeing the rebranding of Second Harvest’s signature product line and the rollout of new products. In his previous role, he helped re-establish the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida as a regional leader in HIV-related healthcare.

Bishop Moore’s curriculum set him up to start college strong. The influence of BMC's close friends and relationships that continue still today helped set a foundation in which to live.

Alberto has been in charitable work for the majority of his career. As much as he tried to move into other fields, work centered around causes and bettering our community has been a core part of his adult life.

Alberto says that the way he lives his faith is pretty simple. And not always easy. For Alberto, faith is an ever-evolving engagement with God. As he ages, Alberto said, and goes through more of life’s challenges, he continually re-engages in his relationship and discerns where God is leading him. The simple part, according to him, is how his faith tells him to treat others.

Bishop Moore Catholic High School prepared Leslie academically to succeed in college, medical school, and beyond. Leslie met her husband at Bishop Moore and made other lifelong friendships.

Currently, Leslie mentors pre-medical and medical students and conducts local alumni interviews for Georgetown and Dartmouth. She also participates in running events and other fundraising events for charity.

As a student, Leslie served in Eucharistic ministry and peer ministry. She continues to live out her faith by attending Mass, teaching her children about her faith and sending them to Catholic school, and serving as godparents for the children of those lifelong friends she made at Bishop Moore.

Matt started his own law practice, Pineda Law, PLLC, in Heathrow, Florida where he concentrates in Probate, Estate Planning, and Entrepreneurship Law. He and his wife, Leslie, have sponsored the alumni BBQ at homecoming, the Battle for College Park against Edgewater, donated to the building of the Moore Center for Excellence, and have tried to attend alumni mixers when possible.

Matt feels “the school motto of Vitrus et Scientia, Virtue and Knowledge, has shaped my wife and I’s lives as we have always put so much emphasis on learning while also seeking to use what we have learned to help others.”

Justin experienced a reconversion of his faith in his senior year of college when a good friend of his died. Following his friend’s death, Justin decided to devote his life to God. He served on mission trips, joined the Teach for America corps, and even discerned a call to the priesthood.

Justin says he was blessed to work alongside Father Miguel Gonzalez and Deacon Dave Gray, one of his spiritual mentors, when he served as Director of Pastoral Ministry for St. James Cathedral. In his current position, he has launched annual men’s and women’s conferences and retreats that lead people to Christ. He is also a co-author of a book entitled “Go! Make Disciples.”

Mary’s years at Bishop Moore taught her the importance of service and working for the collective good. She chose to pursue a career in nursing and began her bedside work as an adult inpatient oncology nurse at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, DC.

When the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020, Mary decided to respond to the call for healthcare providers in northern New Jersey by working as a travel nurse at a community hospital with a vulnerable patient population. Continued exposure to disparities in access to healthcare motivated Mary to attend law school, with a desire to advocate for patients on a larger scale. Currently, Mary is very grateful to be continuing her Catholic education at Georgetown University Law Center. Upon graduation, she hopes to work in regulatory health law and policy.

Mary carries the lessons learned and the friends she made at Bishop Moore with her every day in her professional and personal life.

You may recognize Sam as a professional golfer on the PGA tour. Sam joined the tour in 2012 and has qualified for the FedExCup playoffs in 2019, 2020, and in 2022, he became the 10th Phoenix Open participant to make a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. Sam attended Stetson University where he studied finance and currently resides in Atlantic Beach, FL.

Steven graduated with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. After working for a startup for two years, he began his own digital marketing and data science consulting firm, Crossing Gaps LLC. Steven has had the good fortune to work with a number of clients across the globe including Seaworld Parks and Entertainment, AdventHealth, and Papa Johns.

Steven gives back as much as he can by mentoring budding entrepreneurs and through charitable giving across a number of organizations.

Tanya finished her 14th season as Head Volleyball Coach and has compiled a career record of 311-81. She has been part of 4 state championships and was named the 5A Coach of the year four times. She has received many other awards and recognitions including Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year for the state of Florida.

Bishop Moore Catholic has always been home to Tanya. She has spent almost half of her life as part of the BMC community. Many of the relationships she formed are still some of her most important and that she maintains still today. She feels fortunate to have the privilege to coach for a school that is driven by faith and culture.

Tanya feels strongly that it is important to nurture and help others grow in their faith. Tanya shared that “It is very rewarding and fulfilling to be able to empower young women and encourage them to be the best version of themselves. By consciously choosing to do your best in everything you do and doing things for the good of others, you are living your faith and showing a great example to others around you. To be able to turn to our faith through all moments in our life creates a valuable foundation to be who God has intended us to be.”

Matt served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica from 2006-2008. He earned his Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore as a Paul D. Coverdell Fellow. Matt was chosen as Miami Dade College's first-ever College-Wide Director of Workforce Readiness where he increased internship opportunities by 400% and created an embedded workforce program that was recognized as a national best practice by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Matt was also named to the Miami Foundation's 2018 Leaders Class. He spent three years with a national veteran-service organization, The Mission Continues, as their Regional Director of Operations, helping to lead 280 volunteer events and activation of 4,600 veteran and civilian volunteers across Florida and Puerto Rico.

In his current role as Executive Director of United Against Poverty in Indian River County, he leads an amazing team that supported 8,500 adults last year through our grocery, education, crisis and workforce programs. Their campus was able to successfully raise over $1.8 million to expand our programmatic impact.

Matt transferred to BMC between his freshman and sophomore years when his family relocated from Virginia. However, he was the thirteenth Tanner to graduate from BMC, as his Dad and his ten siblings all went there. Matt and his Dad shared the same Algebra teacher, Ms. Brown. So with that legacy, it always felt like a special honor to carry that torch forward for his family. He met friends here that will be his brothers and sisters for life, and winning a state championship in soccer his senior year was something he will always cherish.

Matt has felt called to career opportunities that ultimately serve his community, working closely with first-generation college students, foster youth, veterans, immigrants, and individuals and families living in poverty. He has had the amazing privilege to work in Central America as a Peace Corps Volunteer and lead service trips to the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica to build basketball courts as a Project Manager with Courts for Kids. A lot of the service project work he was involved in with The Mission Continues focused on environmental stewardship with deferred maintenance service projects across multiple national, state, and county parks.

Matt has little doubt that the approach that he brings to his role as a father, husband, brother, son, colleague, and community member is largely informed and influenced by his spiritual upbringing and education. Some of the simple but foundational lessons on honesty, empathy, love, forgiveness, respect, and kindness have not only helped develop Matt into the man he is today, but they serve as a constant guide for how he chooses to navigate his daily life.

Alexandra currently runs retail operations for CVS Health. With over 300,000k employees and 9,800 stores across the country, Alexandra delivers the tools, resources, communication, and strategy to bring health to the community. Instrumental in the Covid-19 pandemic response, she was responsible for helping CVS administer over 25% of the US COVAX vaccines and running the largest retail testing structure. Alexandra has grown in her career as a pharmacist for the past 10 years and continues to hold an active license in Florida.

“Bishop Moore instilled values and work ethic and helped shape my vision of purposeful work. The friendships I created at BMCHS continue today. I am grateful for the education that prepared me to succeed and the focus on love and kindness that live with me today.”

Alexandra graduated with a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 2005 and a PharmD from the University of Cincinnati in 2009. She married fellow Hornet, Joshua Todd '99, in 2008. The couple currently reside in Altamonte Springs with their three daughters, Madeline (10), Eloise (8), and Penelope (4). They are co-owners and founders of Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company in College Park, Florida and personify the “work hard, play harder” phrase.

Danny started a non-profit organization in 2011 that provides financially disadvantaged youth in Central Florida with sports scholarships and sports equipment. Sports 4 The Kids has provided over 1,200 kids with sports scholarships. Danny shared “there were many times where I questioned myself and asked myself 'What am I doing? I have a family, I have another job, I have all of these other responsibilities, why am I doing this?’ God was always there for me and told me to continue helping these kids and these families because it is the right thing to do.”

Michael has worked in the travel and tourism industry for 17 years. At Fun Spot America, he originated the concept for Night of Gold, the company’s annual Christian worship youth event. In addition, Michael developed a community partnership with Bishop Moore Catholic and Morning Star Catholic where Fun Spot supports the schools by holding retreats onsite and offering in-kind donations. Michael has received many accolades including a peer-nominated award for Team Player of the Year. In his current role, Michael will focus on digital media content partnering with hospitality groups across the U.S. He will lead their digital marketing presence.

Michael has served his community in myriad of ways including serving as a board member for Orlando City Youth Soccer, an active volunteer with Nathaniel's Hope, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus and serves in various ministries at his parish.

Jessica received her DMD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She has served on the Winter Park Public Library Board of Trustees from 2016-2020 and is involved with the Give Back a Smile program through the AACD that gives victims of domestic violence a new smile after their trauma.

Jessica shared that BMC greatly impacted her life. She received a great education that gave her a foundation for college and dental school. She made lifelong friends that she’s still close with today. Most importantly, BMC gave her the foundation for her faith that has helped her through the challenges and blessings in her life.

Jessica serves her community by trying to be an example to others. She tries to serve those who are less fortunate by sharing her time and talents. She has volunteered with Mission of Mercy and participated in mission trips in developing countries providing dental care.

“I trust God completely in my journey. My most important role is being a wife and a mother. It is important to me to raise my family in the Catholic faith by giving my children the same foundation that I had. I will live out my faith being an example to my children and with my husband raising a family with love and Jesus Christ.”
